This project aims to create a unique record of Hanwell communities, heritage, projects and initiatives producing a portrait of Hanwell people and places.
The project launched in January 2017 and training commenced in April 2017 to train local volunteers in media and communication skills in order to capture and create a record of the area and the Big Local programme as it unfolds over the years.
This multi-media audio-visual project will celebrate heritage and diversity creating a legacy of and for the area, created by Hanwell people. It will take place throughout the year with the aim of building a sense of belonging and creating a lasting legacy for present and future generations to enjoy.
Organised by The Art Box (from the Animal Centre in the Bunny Park), the creative team will design engaging ways to involve people, working in partnership with local groups, and people from different communities who share Hanwell as their home.
Involving local people in all aspects of the project, from the training, to telling and capturing stories and oral histories, building a photographic record and making documentary films. This depends on you! So, if you have skills and stories to share, or would like to learn new skills, we’d love to hear from you.
